The life and career of forgotten American tenor saxophone great Leon “Chu” Berry are analyzed in this condensed film documentary.

Beginning with his childhood in Wheeling, West Virginia this condensed documentary offers introductory and insight into all too brief career of tenor saxophone great Leon “Chu” Berry. After attending an inspiring concert featuring Coleman Hawkins he got his start on alto sax while still in high school. With Sammy Stewart’s band he traveled and eventually settling in New York City during the late 1920’s.
