In this excerpt from the 1932 film “Harlem In Heaven” Bill “Bojangles” Robinson makes his debut on the silver screen dancing his famous “Step Dance” to the accompaniment of, pianist, Putney Dandridge with whom he worked regularly during the period.

“Bojangles” would go on to perfrom an even more memorable version of his “Step Dance” opposite child star Shirley Temple in the 1935 film “The Little Colonel”.
