*”Indian Summer” is a Jazz standard originally composed for piano in 1919 by the prolific composer Victor Herbert with lyrics later added by Al Dubin in 1939. In 1940 Tommy Dorsey’s Orchestra, with vocalist Frank Sinatra, took it to number one on the American Hit Parade. The same year Sidney Bechet made this record, one of the first Jazz versions of the tune.
